Physiotherapy Assessments for Runners
As a form of exercise running can be a great way to get fit, lose weight or reduce stress. However, it is also a sport with a high injury rate amongst participants of all standards.
Injuries commonly associated with running include:
- Lower knee pain
- Keen pain or ‘runner’s knee’
- ITB dysfunction
- Shin pain
- Achilles tendinopathy
- Plantar fasciitis
- Calf strains
Talk to anyone who runs and they’ll tell you about a ‘dodgy knee’, ‘weak ankle’ or ‘sore hip’ they may have had. Left unchecked, such symptoms can not only interrupt your training but also lead to problems in other areas as your body struggles to compensate.
Early diagnosis and treatment of symptoms is key to preventing a ‘little niggle’ from becoming a long-term or recurrent issue.
Our 1-2-1 assessment will include:
- Physical assessment
- Running gait analysis on treadmill
- Personalised exercise prescription aid injury prevention.
- Advice on footwear
