ANN MCLAUGHLIN, MCSP, HPC
Having qualified as a Physiotherapist many years ago, I worked at Barts and later Great Ormond Street Hospital giving me wide experience in Orthopaedics, rehabilitation following neurosurgery, post natal exercise and management of acute respiratory conditions.
I then changed direction and worked in the independent sector starting my practice in Ealing over 40 years ago. The practice has grown over time and moved into our present location 23 years ago. There are 5 therapists and a team of 3 who run our office.
My involvement is now as practice principal and I oversee the running of the clinic.
TIM KNIGHT, MCSP, HPC
Tim graduated from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia in 1992. He worked for five years in NHS physiotherapy before moving into private practice.
He has also worked with several sports teams including London Welsh Rugby football Club.
He has undertaken post-graduate training in Pilates and acupuncture and is a member of the Association of Charted Physiotherapists in Sports Medicine, Hydrotherapy and Acupuncture.
Tim’s special interests include the treatment of back and neck pain and sporting injuries with a particular interest in shoulder rehabilitation.
In his spare time, Tim enjoys spending time with the family, keeping fit and coaching junior cricket at Richmond Cricket Club.
CATHERINE SALTER, MCSP, HPC
Catherine qualified in 1999 from Brunel University with an upper second class degree in physiotherapy. She started work as a physio in the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville and completed her junior rotations in a variety of areas. She has been working solely in musculoskeletal outpatients since 2002, initially in the NHS, and for the last 11 years in private practice in central London.
She has completed post graduate training in manual therapy in Perth, Australia, with the MACP in the UK and now with the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) to become a Pilates instructor and teaches regular classes at the clinic. Her special interest areas include the lumbar spine, pelvis and lower limb, and also the shoulder.
With her history as a gymnast she also enjoys the challenge of achieving flexibility for sport but with associated stability and strength for performance. She has excellent links with specialist consultant surgeons in central London.
REENA PATEL, MCSP, HPC
Reena graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from University of Hertfordshire in June 2006. She has seven years’ experience in the assessment, treatment and management of musculoskeletal conditions. During her career she has covered areas in hand therapy, hydrotherapy, spinal, rheumatology, paediatrics, women’s health-including antenatal and postnatal Pilates, trauma and orthopaedics.
Reena has a special interest in the treatment of shoulder conditions, tendinopathies, and back pain and is experienced in rehabilitation back to sport. She has attended various courses including Pilates matwork, antenatal and postnatal Pilates, Pilates on the ball and acupuncture.
She believes in treating patients holistically and working collaboratively with them in order to achieve their functional/sports specific goals.
In her spare time she loves to travel and…dance –no particular type –just dancing! She also likes hiking and has completed both the national and the Welsh three peaks.
SARA LUMLEY, MCSP, HPC
Sara qualified from Guy’s Hospital School of Physiotherapy in 1985. Since graduating Sara has gained a broad experience in all areas of physiotherapy.
After many years combining working in the clinic and providing domiciliary care, Sara is now concentrating solely on providing Home Visits within the west London area.
SIAN KNIGHT, MCSP, HPC – WOMEN’S HEALTH
Sian is our specialist Women’s Health Physiotherapist. She graduated from Cardiff School of Physiotherapy in 1991 and has gained extensive experience working in several NHS London hospitals, community trusts and the private sector.
Sian has completed post-graduate training with POGP in various aspects of women’s health physiotherapy and specialises in the treatment and management of stress urinary incontinence, urinary urgency, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic pain.
Along with her private sector work Sian continues to work as a women’s health physiotherapist in the NHS, maintaining clinical best practice through her working relationships with gynaecologists, continence nurse specialists and other women’s health physiotherapists.
ANGELA BENJAMIN, MCSP, HPC – RUNNING ASSESSMENTS
Angela now sees clients for Running Assessments. She graduated from St Mary’s Hospital, in London in 1992. After several years working in the NHS where she developed an interest in musculoskeletal conditions, she completed her Master’s degree in Sports Medicine at Glasgow University. Since then she has worked in the private sector and has also had experience working with professional athletes such as the British Short-track Speed-skating team and providing physiotherapy cover for LTA junior tennis tournaments.
She has personal interest in sport and exercise: she gained a black belt in Kickboxing, enjoys running and is learning to play tennis. Having sustained various injuries in pursuit of her sports, Angela understands the demands and challenges of maintaining optimum fitness.
